Wedding Post 2 - The Rehearsal Dinner

The rehearsal dinner turned out even better than we expected!  It was a gorgeous night at the beach and we LOVED having our families together with our closest friends.  It was such a special night...we wish I could re-live it over and over so we don't forget anything.  I might have shed a few tears...but all good tears.

The Rehearsal Dinner was at the Carolina Yacht Club on Wrightsville Beach.  I've been going there for as long as I can remember in the summers to go to the beach, grill out, play ping pong, etc. so it was really special to have the RD there.  It had the perfect laid-back/beachy feel while still having the special, festive, weddingy (is that a word?) feel.  It all came together perfectly!!

The food was delicious!  We had frogmore stew, macaroni and cheese, and lots of other really yummy stuff.  One of my bridesmaids, Lollie, made an awesome slideshow of pictures of Richard and I growing up and pictures of us together.  She did a great job and I think everybody got a kick out of some of the pictures of our awkward years (or mostly Richard's awkward years :) ).  Several people gave some really sweet toasts, including a poem from my brothers titled "We may be losing our Memory but we ain't lost our mind"...I think that have a future in something great.  The whole night was awesome and we both loved every second of it!

I love my girls!!

My longest friend

Richard's family also traveled from far away to be there with us

Overall it was one of the most special nights of our lives.  We can't say enough about how much it meant to us to have everybody there just for us.  It was truly a humbling, sweet time and again it was just a taste of what was to come.  We are so grateful for all of the love and support from our friends and family and we hope that we were able to convey our thanks through the weekend.

Stay tuned for the wedding and when somebody sends me pics of the Bridesmaids Lunch I'll post those too!!

Wedding Post 1 - The BBQ

I'm just going to draw this whole wedding thing out and put it into several posts since it was just such a great weekend!!  The weekend got off to a great start with a BBQ get-together on Thursday night as family and wedding party were getting into town.  We were blessed with some great friends and family who hosted this wonderful party for us and it was the perfect way to get the weekend started!

It was a beautiful night and a beautiful house!

We had a great time and it made me so excited for the rest of the weekend.  It was so humbling to have everyone there in one place and that was just a small group compared to what was to come!  My mom's husband, David, did an awesome job taking pictures at the BBQ and the rehearsal dinner and I am so thankful to have them all to remember the weekend!!

Pre-Wedding Baby Shower

I was lucky enough to get to be home for a week before the wedding which gave me just enough time to host a little baby shower for my matron-of-honor, Tori, and her baby girl on the way!  We had a great time and she got so much great stuff!  Here are just a few pics of the festivities...

We Love You Skuddz!!!

Wow...lots has been going on lately (clearly...I have a new last name!!)...but before we get to that I wanted to dedicate a special post to sweet Skudder.  Unfortunately Skudder went to be with Jesus right after we got married.  It's been hard for both of us but it has been especially hard for Richard since he has been his best friend for the last 10 years.  So...here is a little tribute to our sweet fella...

We love you!!!
